2009 - 2012

I worked for 2.5 years with the Chicago Board of Education overseeing a team of architects and engineers evaluating the existing condition of many older Chicago Public School buildings.  Our team proposed a scope of work to satisfy the client’s desire for Safe, Clean, and Dry facilities for all children in Chicago.  My work also included setting design standards, hiring and overseeing architects and managing tight schedules for over 100 projects annually.

 

Metra Market and the French Market  - (with Cannon Design), Chicago, IL

Completed 2009

Project Manager and Project Architect for the retail shell space and infrastructure at the concourse level of the Ogilve Transportation Center – A major train station in Chicago.  The solution worked around existing columns supporting the train platforms and worked to provide a flexible shell that could accommodate many types of tenants over the 99 year lease the owner took on.  I coordinated with Architects for the CVS and Lavazza tenants and was the Architect for the French Market space – a fresh food market with over 20 individual tenants.

 

The Marketing Store – (with Cannon Design) Office Remodeling, Lombard, IL

Completed 2008

Architect for the consolidation of multiple corporate offices of a marketing firm into a new Headquarters. The design produced many collaborative and whimsical spaces to accommodate new wasy for this creative company to work. 

 

Northwestern Memorial Prentice Women’s Hospital (with Cannon Design) New Hospital, Chicago, Illinois.

Completed 2006

I was one of many Project Architects working on the New 1 Million SF hospital for woman specific healthcare.  My primary responsibilities included coordination with the MEP teams for slab penetrations for this 17 story project.

 

O’Hare International Airport, (with Cannon Design) Chicago, Illinois

Not constructed.

New contractor-led Design-Build 750,000 sf, billion dollar, airline terminal/concourse (Terminal 6) with associated people mover system and roadway reconfigurations.  I one of a dozen Project Architects and was responsible for the design and documentation of the parking structure and architectural interface of the adjacent roadway system to the terminal.  This project was unfortunately never built for funding reasons.

2011 and 2012 – Stop on the Windy City Coop Tour (local chicken coop open house)
